INTERROGATION with Frondizi's Teri Lemos

That hair, that laugh, and all that flair. Teri Lemos, the day bartender at Frondizi’s has the “it” factor that is essential to any drink slinger. We met when I worked next door at THE SALON and I’ve been madly in love ever since. She runs this joint - answering phones, making drinks, serving food, and greeting everyone with her mega-watt smile and endless enthusiasm. During her interview, we got comments from all sides of the bar so this issue’s interrogation is going to be a little different.



THE FACTS ON MS. TERI:

1. She’s been in the business since she was 16, from busser to bartender, and it’s no wonder that she’s so freakin’ good at this.

2. She mostly drinks wine, but “those Bloody Mary’s are darned good.” Yes, they are, Teri and yes, she said darned.

3. She doesn’t drink tequila....anymore.

4. Teri resoundingly responded with a “Hell, no!” when asked if she ever thought of opening her own bar. “I’d rather work and just go home. If I had my own stud parlor, that’d be a different story.”

5. The secret to her success is her big heart. She cares about people and it shows. “I’m always taking care of my customers the way I want to be treated.” We asked her regulars, Roland and Bill, what made Teri so good. They cheekily answered, “She doesn’t charge us!”

6. She’s got flair and we’re not talking about flipping bottles - this stylish bartender has pins and decorations for every single holiday. Gina her manager said, “She’s the dress up bartender, she’s very extravagant!” Extravagant and exceptional.

Teri’s Work Schedule: Frondizi’s Ristorante >> M-F 11 am - 5 pm,
no nights and weekends, she’s paid her dues.
